IMPROVE SAFETY IN HEALTH CARE AND SERVICES
Everyone’s Business
Whether you are a user, a relative or a visitor, if you witness a risky situation or an accident, it is very important that you inform the staff immediately. Staff will take appropriate action, including reporting incidents or accidents.
When we talk about a risk situation, we are talking about a risk of falling that you identify by seeing a wet floor, a crowded corridor where many users circulate, defective equipment, etc.
In fact, your collaboration is essential in what our institution calls “risk management” and improving safety in the delivery of health care and services.
Risk Management
At the Vita Medical private clinic, a division of CMIPQ, the analysis of incident or accident reports helps to continuously improve the care and services offered to the population. This analysis allows us to implement concrete measures to prevent other incidents or accidents.
Incident or Accident Report
The reporting of an incident or accident is an obligation of the Health Services and
social services. This law aims to promote the safety of users and consequently, the improvement
continued quality of care and services provided to the user.
What is an incident?
Hazardous situation that may present a hazard but does not affect the user (examples: damage
water, broken window, etc.)
What is an accident?
Situation that directly affects the user, with or without consequences for him (examples: error related to the
medication, user fall, etc.)
Disclosure of an accident to the user
Following an accident known or not to the user, there may be a disclosure. It is given verbally to the user or his relatives and contains any information relating to the accident and the preventive measures taken to prevent it from recurring.
At the Vita Medical private clinic, a division of CMIPQ, we count on your vigilance and collaboration to improve the safety of care and services that contribute to their quality.
